Today I’m going back to my hometown, Keelung.

然後我要做什麼？等一下在火車上跟你說。

今天我要回去基隆，就是因為現在是五月，二十幾號。

So I’m going back to Keelung today because it’s May right now—sometime in the twenties,

那反正在台灣，母親節是五月的第二個禮拜日。
nà fǎnzhèng zài Táiwān, mǔqīnjié shì wǔ yuè de dì-èr ge lǐbàirì.
And in Taiwan, Mother’s Day is the second Sunday of May.

然後上個週末，因為我媽去日本玩，我們就沒有幫她過母親節。
ránhòu shàng gè zhōumò, yīnwèi wǒ mā qù Rìběn wán, wǒmen jiù méiyǒu bāng tā guò mǔqīnjié.
And last weekend, my mom was in Japan, so we didn’t celebrate Mother’s Day with her.

And today I just thought—haven’t been home in a while,

剛好今天在基隆市區也有一個免費的搖滾演唱會。

And… turns out today in downtown Keelung there’s also a free rock concert.

所以我們現在在八堵火車站轉車。

we’re at Badu Station now to transfer.

我剛剛搭的這個是區間車，

The one I just took was a local train.

很好笑的是，其實這個車站是 最近 我忘記幾年了，新蓋的。

Funny thing is, this station was recently—I forgot how many years ago—newly built.

所以其實我超不熟，我剛剛還在找出口。

So I’m actually not familiar with it at all. I was just looking for the exit.

After we eat, the concert stage we’re going to is right across from the train station.

就是房子都黑黑的。其實那時候我真的就覺得：喔！回家了。

But all the buildings looked super dark. Honestly, at that moment I was like, oh! I’m home.

因為基隆就常常下雨嘛，然後很潮濕啊。

Because—Keelung always rains and it’s super damp.

所以小時候其實沒有很喜歡自己長大的地方。

So when I was a kid, I didn’t really like where I grew up.

但是最近這幾年來真的改善很多。

But honestly, these past few years it’s gotten a lot better.

因為一出基隆的車站，其實有一個河，叫基隆河。
yīn wèi yì chū jī lóng de chē zhàn, qí shí yǒu yí ge hé, jiào jī lóng hé
Right outside Keelung Station, there’s a river, called the Keelung River.

然後那個河以前好像很多人會在裡面倒垃圾，
rán hòu nà ge hé yǐ qián hǎo xiàng hěn duō rén huì zài lǐ miàn dào lè sè
And that river—people used to dump a lot of trash in it.

然後一出火車站就整個超臭。
rán hòu yì chū huǒ chē zhàn jiù zhěng ge chāo chòu
So as soon as you got off the train, it smelled horrible.

然後基隆就是路上也有很多流浪漢啊，
rán hòu jī lóng jiù shì lù shàng yě yǒu hěn duō liú làng hàn ā
And Keelung had a lot of homeless people too.

我小時候其實覺得蠻可怕的。
wǒ xiǎo shí hòu qí shí jué de mán kě pà de
When I was little, it was kinda scary.

但現在就真的覺得好很多。
dàn xiàn zài jiù zhēn de jué de hǎo hěn duō
But now honestly, it feels way better.
